To create images where people know how deeply they love and are loved, empowering them to celebrate life from a place of gratitude, grace & humility.
I’m Marisa from Cadence and Grace Photography and I’m not your average Melbourne Family and Wedding Photographer. Yes, I’m drawn to creating beautiful images of human connection but my driving force is bold. I want my clients truly know how deeply they love and are loved through their photos.
A wedding is a celebration of you finding each other in this crazy world. It’s your declaration screaming ‘Hells YES!’ to a lifetime of daily adventures, holiday planning, long brunches, eternally lost socks, long drives, trying to keep indoor plants alive and fights over which movie to watch together on Netflix. It’s a celebration of the real you, together and the perfectly imperfect.
When I document your wedding, I’m documenting a story and connection that is unique to the two of you. I’m showcasing its beauty in a day filled with fresh florals, champagne toasts, smiles (and often tears), proud grandparents, first kisses, cheese towers, drunken cousins and dance floor antics. The big moments and all the little moments in between.
"Marisa was outstanding! We wanted natural shots, and she delivered by capturing the most beautiful moments - whilst we hardly knew she was there. She’s also such a genuine and warm soul, I don’t normally like getting my pic taken but she made the whole experience super comfortable for all of us."
- Sarah & Ben
"Having Marisa as our photographer was one of the most wonderful decisions of our wedding day. Not only was it about the amazing product for us though, Marisa became a crucial part of the day itself and a calming force. Thanks Marisa!"
- Emily and Lynton
"Marisa is amazing. You really captured every moment from beginning to end (superwoman!!), the love and the fun we were all experiencing! ...as well as getting lovely shots of us that capture how we feel, not the in-front of camera awkwardness that usually accompanies photography of us."
- Melissa & Jason
Creating calm is my superpower
You know, those couples that look natural & effortlessly connected in their wedding photos – these are real couples just like you two. They too were excited for their Wedding Day, but equally feeling nervous in front of the camera initially (what are you meant to do with your hands?!).
Creating calm is my party trick
On the day, you'll brush off the stress of holding the biggest party of your life, get back to enjoying your Wedding day, champagne in hand (or your fave beer if that’s your thing!) and just be your usual, down-to-earth selves.
Above all, when you just be you, the real you, I do my best work. My ability to blend into the room like an old friend (or the extra bridesmaid or groomsman, you didn’t know you had) feels effortless.
I work with real, down-to-earth couples like you, to create images that transport you back to the memories of how your wedding day felt.
I work behind the scenes (like a little out-of-shape ninja), capturing your loved ones screaming out the lyrics “Woah we’re halfway there…!!!” with the band, the details behind the real story of how your cousin got drenched in red wine, and that tender expression as your grandmother see’s you walk down the aisle reminiscing of the moment she shared once with her big love.
Now, fast forward (a few months later) to that moment you return home from your honeymoon to find your Wedding Photography Gallery complete and curated.
You pop a bottle of bubbly (or saber it if you practiced for your wedding day), assemble a cheese platter of epic proportions and sit down to relive your perfect day together. Reminisce over the moments that are firmly planted in your mind. And those you didn’t even know happened (my couples constantly compliment me on capturing these).
Moment by moment. Frame by frame. Each filled with love, joy, happiness and the perfect amount of champagne. And if I’ve done my job right, couch snuggs and happy tears afterwards!
It’s time to trade wedding planning paralysis and expectations, for that real ‘We’re getting married’ feeling!
